Course Description
The Private Pilot's License Theory Course offered by the Royal Victorian Aero Club is designed to prepare students for the written examination required to obtain a Private Pilot's License in Australia. The course is delivered in a classroom setting by experienced flight instructors who are also subject matter experts.
Throughout the course, students will learn about the fundamentals of aviation, including aerodynamics, flight planning, navigation, meteorology, and aircraft systems. The course covers all the necessary topics required by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for a Private Pilot's License.
Each class includes interactive lectures, practical exercises, and group discussions to reinforce the learning outcomes. Students will also have access to study materials, including textbooks, practice exams, and online resources, to help them prepare for the written examination.
Upon completion of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the theoretical aspects of flying, and be well-prepared to sit for the written examination required by CASA. The course also serves as a foundation for further flight training, as it provides a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of aviation.

Prerequisites

- Flight Computer (E6B, circular or slide)
- Navigation ruler
- Current ML VTC, VNC, WAC and ERSA
- Writing materials

Assessment
Assessment is based on student participation, completion of practical exercises, and performance on practice exams. Students must also pass the written examination required by CASA to obtain a Private Pilot's License.
