SINGLE ENGINE CIR & PIFR TRAINING COURSE

The single Engine IFR course is available to PPL and CPL holders to enable flight in Single engine aircraft in most kinds of weather conditions. Moorabbin is ideally placed to provide this type of training. Three airports have ILS approaches in the local area. There are also airports with VOR, NDB, twin locator and GPS non precision approaches that are all within minutes flight time from Moorabbin.

Most of our aircraft are IFR capable; you have the choice of flying Archer II, Arrow IV and Piper Lance. Several of these aircraft are equipped with KLN89B TSO'd GPS systems. The ground training is performed in the GC1 synthetic trainer which is a realistic multi and single engine synthetic trainer. Enroute GPS training endorsements are provided free of charge for Club Members ($70.00 others).

NOTE: Except for those pilots whose licence is restricted to day only operations, an additional training requirement of 5 hours in command (and an associated 3 hours of dual) at night is required to enable the pilot to fly IFR at night. If you do not have the requisite experience (via a NVFR), then the following costs apply:
