MULTI-ENGINE IFR TRAINING COURSE

The Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating is available to PPL and CPL holders to enable flight in multi engine aircraft in most kinds of weather conditions. Moorabbin is ideally placed to provide this type of training. Three airports have ILS approaches in the local area. There are also airports with VOR, NDB, twin locator and GPS non-precision approaches that are all within minutes flight time from Moorabbin.

The M.E.C.I.R. is conducted in our Beechcraft Travelair. This aircraft is a superb IFR trainer and is well equipped with dual digital avionics. Most of our single engine aircraft are IFR capable, and several of these are equipped with KLN 89B TSO'd GPS systems. The ground training is performed in the GC1 synthetic trainer, which is a realistic multi and single engine synthetic trainer. En-route GPS training endorsements are provided free of charge for Club Members ($70.00 others).
